Dermatologic Surgery

Dr. Farhadian has advanced training in dermatologic surgery. He has performed thousands of surgical procedures to treat both benign and malignant skin conditions.

In addition to Mohs surgery, Dr. Farhadian performs the following procedures.

Removal of Benign Growths

There are a variety of skin growths that can be physically or cosmetically bothersome. Cysts and lipomas (fatty growths) are amongst the most common, and can be removed under local anesthesia. Moles or birthmarks that are cosmetically bothersome or clinically concerning can be excised as welll. Additionally, cherry angiomas (“red spots”), seborrheic keratoses, skin tags, and solar lentigines (“liver spots”) are other common benign growths that can be removed with simple procedures that usually require no downtime.

Ear Lobe Repairs

Over time, earrings may chronically pull on the ear, resulting in a stretched or torn earlobe. A revision procedure can be performed under local anesthesia to restore the appearance of the lobe. In most cases, the ear can be re-pierced once the area has sufficiently healed.

SCAR REVISION

Scars from trauma, surgery, acne, and other causes can be improved using a variety of modalities including laser resurfacing, surgical revision, and/or injection of medication. The appropriate treatment will depend on the size and location of the scar; the patient’s skin type; the age of the scar; and the etiology of the scar.
